Problem:  The Forum Constitution states that one of the duties of the Forum Finance Committee is "appoint from among its members the Faculty's representatives to university committees dealing with budgetary matters.''  This conflicts with the  Faculty Handbook, which states that the Faculty Service Committee, in consultation with the administration and relevant Faculty shall determine such details as terms, elections, appointments, etc. This conflict was confirmed by the Chair of the Faculty Handbook Committee and the Academic Vice President, who are empowered to interpret the Handbook.

Solution:  Delete this duty from the Forum Finance Committee.  Specifically, delete V, D, 5, b, iii from the Constitution of the Faculty Forum.

Other:  It is suggested that the Faculty Service Committee be aware of the Forum Finance Committee whenever any university committees dealing with budgetary matters come into being.
